Product Designer - Core Experience (Core Value & Engagement)

The role involves contributing to the design quality of high-priority features across the team's portfolio, adapting between projects as product strategies evolve. Designers will craft experiences across core Spotify surfaces focusing on social sharing, playlist curation, and library organization to drive long-term user engagement and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design quality of high-priority features across the team's portfolio
• Apply Spotify's design principles to generate thoughtful, user-centered solutions
• Design across core Spotify surfaces that drive long-term engagement, retention, and user satisfaction
• Work on a range of experiences—from social sharing to playlist curation and library organization—adapting as priorities evolve
• Frame design problems clearly by defining user needs, success criteria, constraints, and tradeoffs
• Explore multiple concepts and directions, knowing when to go deep and when to pivot based on insights and feedback
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, research, and data partners to bring ideas to life
• Leverage AI-powered tools to explore ideas, synthesize insights, prototype, and improve design efficiency and quality
• Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, from early exploration through to final execution and iteration
• Contribute to the broader design community by sharing work, feedback, and learnings

Requirements

• Experience designing mobile consumer products
• Ability to contribute independently to end-to-end design work
• Knowledge of thoughtful interaction design, information architecture, and user journeys
• Comfort working across ambiguity and ability to balance multiple product areas or shifting priorities
• Understanding of user needs and ability to ground decisions in research and data
• Experience designing for mobile platforms and understanding of iOS and Android conventions
• Curiosity about personalization, AI, and how intelligent systems shape user experiences and trust
• Ability to communicate design decisions clearly and connect user needs to product outcomes
• Enjoyment of collaborating with cross-functional partners and actively seeking feedback to improve work
• Comfort using AI-enabled tools as part of the workflow
• Portfolio that demonstrates design process, thinking, and impact
