The Civil Engineer will serve as a client-side technical lead, driving design and construction for enterprise data center campus projects by working directly with Real Estate, Design, and Construction teams. Key duties include collaborating on conceptual designs, developing design standards, managing external consultants, and ensuring projects meet strict quality and performance levels.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on conceptual designs and maintain project documentation across the full project lifecycle
- Shape the future of campus designs by developing and upholding design standards, create design prototypes, and specifications
- Work closely with internal partner teams to refine site selection criteria and evaluate investigation reports
- Lead the charge in managing external design consultants, guiding them through design and construction phases
- Engage with multi-disciplinary Architecture, Structure, and MEP design teams both internally and externally
- Articulate design direction and requirements clearly to project partners
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment by managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Employ creative thinking to discover innovative solutions that optimize costs without compromising quality or reliability throughout the construction process
Requirements
- 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
- 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
