Product Designer

Responsibilities include designing, prototyping, and coding simple and elegant front-end user interfaces for Facebook's platforms, translating conceptual ideas into functional, scalable software, and partnering with engineering teams for compatibility.
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and code front-end user interfaces that are simple and elegant for Facebook's platforms, products, or applications
- Take broad, conceptual product ideas and translate them into functional, scalable software and code to be used for front-end application development
- Write code and programs for User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) products
- Utilize a full range of front-end programming, human-computer interaction, and visual design skills to seek out creative, design-led code and software solutions to complex product issues
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure the compatibility of front-end software and code components with the technical specifications of a given product
- Partner with product managers, engineers, researchers, and content strategists to oversee the development of the user experience and user interface assets of a product from conception until launch
- Ensure code and software assets for front-end product design are compatible with Facebook's brand
- Build and code innovative user interfaces and user-facing products that offer new app functions and features, and improve existing app functions and features
- Provide additional post-launch front-end code and user-facing interface support to maximize continued product efficiency
Requirements
- Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Design and Technology, or a related field
- 2 years of experience in top level visual design with typography, layout design, color theories, and interaction design
- 2 years of experience in identifying user needs and challenges to create strategy and effective Interaction design
- 2 years of experience in creating user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, site metrics, and usability findings
- 2 years of experience in collaborating with cross functional teams to achieve consensus on design solutions
- 2 years of experience in prototyping tools such as Flinto, Figma, Sketch, and InVision
- Proficiency in Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and InDesign
