The UX Designer I supports projects under senior guidance, suggesting new design patterns while primarily working within existing frameworks. Responsibilities include iterating on user experience concepts using tools like wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with developers to ensure correct implementation.
Responsibilities
- Keep up to date on news/incidents and understand what is happening in the market and with competitors
- Contribute to discussions about the future of the product or organisation
- Iterate on defined user experience concepts and components for the product or project using tools such as wireframes, prototypes, and process flow diagrams
- Work closely with visual designers and web developers to ensure the UX is implemented as designed
- Work with existing design patterns and style guides, occasionally introducing new patterns
- Proactively use data to establish key metrics for projects
- Explore data from analytics packages, customer insight or other sources to understand context of research work
- Regularly test design work with users in partnership with UX Research team
- Proactively identifies needs for training in technical skills
Requirements
- A minimum of 2-4 years experience as a UX Designer supporting small to medium design projects
- Strong user-centred design understanding, including familiarity with UX frameworks
- Proficiency on UX concepts using wireframes, prototypes, and process flow diagrams, and contribute to customer-facing product and application designs
- Strong personal and interpersonal competencies Collaboration skills across disciplines
- Data-informed design approach, including using analytics, customer insights, and user testing to validate and iterate design solutions
- Advanced knowledge of relevant design tools, such as Axure, Sketch, and InVision (intermediate level), and tools used to communicate designs to developers
