Mechanical Design Engineer, Data Center Design Engineering

The role involves performing project-related mechanical design work such as load calculations, equipment selection, concept sketching, and serving as the CFD subject matter expert by providing detailed reports and design specifications. Responsibilities also include developing mechanical documentation, driving process improvements, and coordinating with construction teams globally.

Responsibilities

• Developing mechanical documentation (e.g., narratives, drawings, specifications)
• Driving process improvements across the organization
• Performing building energy use calculations for determining capacity and type of cooling system required
• Performing CFD models on innovative designs
• Providing reports to senior leadership on the results of those models
• Coordinating with construction and commissioning teams to answer requests for information

Requirements

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas facilities)
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Professional Engineer License (preferred)
