The manager will oversee a portfolio of two to four ASIC/FPGA development programs, guiding the technical baseline and execution while being responsible for hiring and supporting the engineering team. Responsibilities also include implementing common design practices, ensuring first-time quality through comprehensive verification, and developing stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of ASIC/FPGA development programs, typically two to four within a product area, and guide the technical baseline and program execution
  • Hire and support the ASIC/FPGA engineers, including project leads, working programs within your portfolio
  • Implement common design practices used across the wider department and ensure consistent first-time quality for both ASIC and FPGA designs through the use of a comprehensive verification process
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers and strategic suppliers
  • Lead or contribute to individual programs and IRAD projects and support new business and proposals for the department, including architecture development and the selection of appropriate technologies to meet mission requirements
  • Train and mentor less experienced engineers and project leads while building effective teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working with ASICs or FPGAs
  • One or more years of demonstrated success leading development efforts, including project management and earned value tracking
  • One or more years of experience leading a technical team or managing in an engineering organization
  • Familiarity with FAA DO-254 certification
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
