Production Graphic Designer

The role involves consulting with internal clients and production specialists to define design elements and product requirements, while also building production-ready and print-ready artwork for various creative projects. Responsibilities include preparing manufacturing drawings, overseeing project completion, and consulting with engineering staff during fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Consulting with internal clients and production specialists to establish the overall look, design elements and product requirements
• Building production ready and print ready artwork
• Conceiving, designing, and implementing concepts, guidelines and strategies in various creative projects and overseeing them to completion
• Making content and design edits per directions from Project Coordinator/Manager
• Preparing manufacturing drawings, specifications and guidelines for production and installation
• Producing layouts of architectural hardware, signage, and fixtures
• Using existing photo and illustration banks, client supplied images, and typography guides to meet clients' needs
• Making appropriate corrections to photos where necessary
• Using creative software skills as value adds when applicable and as requested
• Managing internal and external stakeholder expectations by following a schedule to ensure files are reviewed and delivered on time for production

Requirements

• Completion of a post-secondary program in Graphic Design
• 2+ years’ experience in graphic design
• Experience in large-scale print production, pre-press, packaging, environmental graphics, industrial design, interior design or architecture
• Mandatory software experience includes Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
• Ability to produce detailed and accurate technical drawings, layouts, and pre-press files in a timely manner
• Technical ability and artistic talent, as demonstrated by a portfolio of work
• A solid understanding of signage detailing, materials, construction processes and print production (digital and conventional)
• Ability to maintain good communication with team members, clients and vendors
• Thrives under pressure
• Strong typographic skills
