The Connector Designer is tasked with defining and developing innovative connector solutions from initial concept through to series-production readiness, collaborating with internal teams, suppliers, and customers. Key duties involve defining technical specifications, developing conceptual solutions, evaluating functional and economic aspects, and maturing designs for mass production.

Responsibilities

  • Define and coordinate technical requirements and specifications with internal departments, suppliers, and customers
  • Develop conceptual solutions for components and assemblies within the assigned product group
  • Evaluate functional, material, manufacturing, and economic aspects and align them with responsible departments
  • Present alternative design options and conduct detailed constructive studies
  • Perform design modifications and select appropriate design elements
  • Mature design solutions to series-production readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable technical field, or certified technician qualification
  • 3+ years of experience in design engineering, product development, or CAD-based construction
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5
  • Strong understanding of plastic and metal component design
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
