
This role involves leading the full user-centered design process autonomously for complex projects, from user interviews and concept design through to high-fidelity interfaces and validation, while also co-leading the team with Product and Engineering Managers. The Lead Product Designer will also be responsible for contributing to the design system, providing mentorship, and ensuring high-quality implementation alongside engineering.
Responsibilities
- Influence Product Direction: Challenge and influence your team's understanding of problems and opportunities
- Lead Complex Projects: Manage and lead complex design projects mostly autonomously at the product team level
- Contribute to Strategy & Vision: Act as a major contributor to your team's roadmap and strategy
- Excel at System Design: Solve complex system design challenges and proactively evolve components and patterns of the Design System
- Coach for Impact: Provide hands-on coaching and guidance to less experienced designers within your product group
- Deliver High-Quality Solutions & Influence Shipping: Design simple and elegant interfaces for complex systems
- Lead Research & Validation: Lead quantitative and qualitative research, including usability studies, competitive analysis, and deep domain research
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in design or a related field, and 6+ years of related experience; OR Master's degree and 4-6 years of related experience
- A portfolio that demonstrates excellence in solving complex system design challenges, conceptual design, and interaction design
- Proven experience designing complex, B2B enterprise applications, including enterprise software, SaaS, PaaS, or on-prem applications
- Strong understanding of user-centered design processes and methodology and mastery of design principles with a firm understanding of grid systems, typography, and color
- A self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects with shifting priorities
- A strong collaborator and communicator, experienced in working with and influencing cross-functional, international teams
- Proficiency in Figma, Figma Make, Zeplin, and relevant AI-assisted design and prototyping tools
