The Senior UX Researcher will lead and execute end-to-end human-centered research across the product lifecycle, planning and facilitating various qualitative and quantitative methods to drive evidence-based design decisions for federal digital services. This role involves synthesizing complex findings into actionable deliverables and partnering with multidisciplinary teams to ensure products are usable, accessible, and aligned with real-world workflows.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute end-to-end UX research across the product lifecycle
- Plan and facilitate a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Translate complex policy, regulatory, and business requirements into researchable questions and actionable insights
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and federal stakeholders to embed research into agile delivery cycles
- Advocate for accessibility, inclusive design, and compliance with Section 508 and WCAG standards
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience conducting UX research for complex digital products
- Demonstrated experience planning and facilitating diverse research methods from exploratory discovery through usability validation
- Strong experience with quantitative research methods such as surveys, tree testing, and data-informed usability analysis
- Knowledge of accessibility compliance including Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 or higher
- Proven ability to document complex usability and business challenges in clear, intuitive formats for diverse stakeholders
