The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify safety challenges on YouTube, developing sustainable solutions, and advocating for their adoption to ensure community safety. Designers will navigate ambiguity in emerging issues, simplify complex problems, and deliver user-focused solutions that balance product constraints like regulation and user value.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with various cross-functional teams to identify safety challenges, develop sustainable solutions and advocate their adoption
- Navigate the ambiguity of emerging issues and develop novel solutions to issues where there is no clear precedent
- Deliver user-focused solutions that manage and balance nuanced product constraints
- Influence and guide adjacent design efforts, partner with various stakeholders to challenge current thinking, and provoke new thinking on critical issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design
- 2 years of experience working on online media topics related to responsibility, security, trust and safety, identity or privacy
- Portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work
