Lead Product Designer

The Lead Product Designer will own the end-to-end design of customer-facing experiences, from concept through shipped code, utilizing code-based prototyping with AI tools. They will collaborate closely with engineers in the codebase, pushing pull requests and building/maintaining the design system within the codebase.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design of customer-facing experiences—from early concept through shipped code
• Prototype in code using tools like Claude Code and Cursor
• Collaborate closely with engineers in the codebase—iterating on designs, pushing pull requests, and working as a peer rather than a handoff partner
• Build and maintain our design system within our codebase — not just using Figma libraries
• Partners closely with Product Management and Engineering to shape squad goals, scope work, and deliver against our ambitious roadmap
• Advocate for the customer in every conversation — grounding design decisions in real user needs, not assumptions
• Contribute to design crits and product reviews, maintaining a high bar for quality and consistency

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience, with meaningful time spent shipping code — not just handing off designs for engineers to build
• Comfort with modern frontend development— React, Next.js, or React Native
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted prototyping—you can take a design idea and produce a working prototype in a single sitting
• Systems thinking and surface-level craft. You care about building scalable, maintainable design patterns and achieving pixel perfection on a single screen
• Strong product instincts and comfort working across engineering, product, and design to solve complex problems
