The role involves creating professional graphic designs and layouts for print and digital media, and producing original illustrations in traditional, digital, and 3D formats to clarify complex scientific data for the public and stakeholders. Responsibilities also include designing high-level presentations, infographics, video content, and ensuring all materials adhere to Section 508 accessibility and agency branding guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Create professional graphic design and layouts for print and digital media
- Produce original illustrations in traditional, digital, and 3D formats
- Design and edit high-level Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for agency leadership
- Illustrate and design infographics for press releases, media events, and research publications
- Create large-scale graphics for trade shows, event booths, and conferences
- Design materials and animated content for video production, web, and social media platforms
- Ensure all content meets Section 508 accessibility requirements and strictly adheres to Agency branding guidelines
- Gather requirements from researchers and stakeholders to interpret and accurately depict scientific subject matter
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college
- Minimum of 5 years of professional graphic design experience
- Expert-level proficiency in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite and project/digital asset management software
- Proven ability to create highly detailed, scientifically accurate depictions of complex objects and principles
- Demonstrated experience with 508 compliance standards
