
The role involves advocating for user-centered design solutions by designing user experiences and interfaces for Web and PDA devices, particularly within the Warehouse Management System (WMS) environment. This includes creating wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs, while conducting user research and usability testing to validate and improve solutions.
Responsibilities
- Involve in designing the user experience and interfaces, particularly for Web and PDA devices and operational workflows within the WMS environment
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs that can be directly implemented by engineering teams
- Design end-to-end user experiences for warehouse management systems, working alongside Product Owners to support both web-based applications and PDA-based operational workflows used by operators and administrators
- Conduct user research to discover insights, define user personas, and map user journeys
- Help establish consistent design patterns, UI components, and design guidelines that can be reused across different parts of the WMS platform
- Conduct concept and usability testing to iteratively validate and improve design solutions
- Translate business processes and operational requirements into clear, intuitive user interfaces and interaction flows
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, operational insights, and usability testing to improve efficiency and usability for warehouse staff and operations teams
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Engineers to refine requirements and ensure designs are feasible and aligned with technical constraints
Requirements
- Able to plan, conduct, and synthesize user research and usability testing
- Skilled at creating interaction design solutions for desktop, web, and mobile applications
- Strong visual design skills, able to create compelling, branded, high-fidelity product screens
- Familiar working with design systems that consistently scale across platforms
- Retail knowledge and enthusiasm is a plus
- Hands-on experience designing consumer applications for desktop, web, and mobile
- Proven experience working in design teams in an Agile product development setting
- Experience planning and conducting user research at various stages of the design process
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of a design choice to users and non-designer stakeholders
