Senior Product Designer (Student Loans)

The Senior Product Designer will lead the end-to-end design for private student loan and refinance experiences, focusing on creating user journeys that increase engagement and conversion across NerdWallet, CollegeFinance.com, and RefiRate.com. This involves driving experimentation across high-intent funnels, defining research strategies, and designing clear, compliant financial workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for private student loan and refinance experiences
• Drive experimentation across high-intent marketing funnels to uncover new growth opportunities and optimize performance
• Define and execute research strategies to uncover insights and inform product decisions
• Partner with Product to translate strategy and OKRs into clear design problems and hypotheses
• Design clear, compliant financial workflows that balance regulation with usability

Requirements

• 5+ years designing consumer-facing digital products
• Experience designing fintech or regulated product experiences
• Proven ability to independently lead research, experimentation, and end-to-end design
• Expertise in Figma and modern prototyping tools
• Strong understanding of UX for high-intent acquisition funnels and conversion optimization
