
Product Designer - Mechatronics - Paris & Cambridge

The role involves designing and developing mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for equipment used in challenging terrain, while also creating electro-hydraulic, computer-controlled systems for mobile machines. Responsibilities include conducting various tests like stress analysis and control logic validation to optimize performance and creating detailed technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs, perform calculations, and develop prototypes for mechanical systems
- Develop electro-hydraulic, computer-controlled systems integrating hydraulic components, sensors, input devices, and control logic
- Analyze and select appropriate materials and components based on mechanical properties, cost, and suitability for manufacturing processes
- Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams including designers/engineers, manufacturing, and quality control
- Conduct tests such as stress analysis, fatigue testing, vibration analysis, and control logic to validate designs and optimize performance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Previous design experience within similar industries to forestry
- Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals, mechanics, machine control theory, sensor technologies, remote control, and autonomous control systems
- Software experience including 3D modeling (SolidWorks)
