Co-op UX Designer - Summer 2026
Global Relay 🇨🇦 Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
The Co-op UX Designer will collaborate with the design team on product initiatives by participating in planning, supporting discovery phases, contributing to design deliverables like wireframes and prototypes, and assisting in user testing sessions. Additionally, they will contribute to design operations by implementing solutions to streamline workflows, refining the UX debt backlog, and helping to elevate design maturity through process refinement.
Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning by asking clarifying questions about business needs and user requirements
- Support discovery phases through shadowing, note-taking, and synthesizing research findings
- Contribute to ideation sessions and design deliverables, including user flows, wireframes, and prototypes
- Assist in user testing sessions
- Learn and eventually contribute to improving the design system
- Contribute to document rationale, decisions, accessibility and design specifications
- Attend stakeholders' meetings led by more senior team members
- Collaborate with UI designers to translate wireframes into polished mock-ups
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and conduct quality assurance reviews
- Help identify and leverage metrics to drive product management and measure success
Requirements
- Theoretical understanding of UX design principles and methodologies
- Proven track record of experience creating UX artifacts
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
- Proactive in seeking feedback and incorporating guidance
- Eager learner with strong attention to detail
