Product Designer

The role involves contributing to elegant user experiences spanning digital (mobile, web) and physical (devices) interfaces by utilizing skills in UX design, design thinking, and visual design, guided by product requirements. The designer will collaborate closely with stakeholders like product managers and engineers to align on solutions and contribute meaningfully throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Using growing range of skills to contribute to elegant user experiences that span digital and physical interfaces
• Designing in collaboration with senior designers and taking initiative on specific product areas under guidance
• Leveraging available quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions
• Communicating and collaborating closely with software product managers, category managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
• Contributing ideas and advocating for refinements and improvements to the user experience
• Working across the design stack: exploring problems, generating ideas, iterating on flows and interactions, building prototypes, and crafting high-fidelity visuals
• Participating in workshops and cross-functional sessions, contributing insights and supporting facilitation when appropriate
• Supporting user testing and research activities, helping plan sessions and analyze insights under the direction of senior team members or a researcher
• Collaborating with internal teams and ecosystem partners to help create unified, seamless user experiences across multiple digital and physical touchpoints

Requirements

• 4+ years of design experience, with 1 year focused on IoT products
• BA/BS in design, UX/UI, HCI, or equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in Figma, prototyping, and collaborative design processes
• Familiarity with Jira
• Working knowledge of design systems and how to use them effectively within an established framework
• Familiarity with interaction design and prototyping tools like Protopie
• Strong visual design skills and an eye for polished, consistent interfaces
• Solid understanding of user-centered design (UCD) principles and a desire to grow expertise in designing for both digital interfaces and physical product interaction
• Understanding of Material Design and Apple’s human interface guidelines
• Awareness of Swift UI and Jetpack Compose capabilities is a plus
• Experience leveraging AI tools and techniques in the design process
• Experience contributing to end-to-end product design as part of a cross-functional team
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
