The Product Designer will collaborate with a small team to shape the future of coding by designing and shipping high-quality products, features, and improvements from concept to high-fidelity visuals. This involves partnering closely with engineering, product management, and research peers to define strategy and tactics while engaging in user research to refine products for software developers.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the overall design and product direction of OpenAI products
- Design and ship high-quality products and improvements, from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes and visuals
- Partner closely with engineering, product management, research, and design peers to define both long-term strategy and short-term tactics
- Engage in user research to better understand our users (software developers) and refine our products
- Contribute to and evolve our design system
- Help establish our design culture and grow our team
Requirements
- Strong technical background
- Recently shipped code to production
- 3+ years of experience shipping larger scale software products
- Portfolio showcasing strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills
- Enjoy 0 -> 1 environments, can navigate ambiguity, and bring crisp design thinking to technical trade-offs
