
Mechanical Design Engineering Intern

The intern will support the development of new pressure and temperature transducer designs for extreme environments by using analytical skills and engineering judgment. Responsibilities include designing and updating components, creating engineering documentation, supporting prototype construction and testing, and assisting with troubleshooting production issues.
Responsibilities
- Use analytical skills, reasoning, and engineering judgment to support the development of new and innovative pressure and temperature transducer designs
- Design and update components and assemblies including machined parts, welded assemblies, diaphragms, housings, fixtures, and tooling
- Create and revise engineering drawings and documentation to internal standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and quality requirements
- Support prototype construction, laboratory testing, and qualification activities during the product design cycle
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause investigations related to test and production issues
- Provide sustaining/continuation engineering support for existing products
- Interact with electrical, manufacturing, test, quality, supply chain, and customers on technical matters as appropriate
- Identify and implement product and process improvements to reduce costs, improve yield, and enhance manufacturability and testability
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's in engineering
- Zero (0) years of related experience
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours) per week in-person
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- GPA of 3.0 or above (preferred)
- Prior internship experience (preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (preferred)
