The Product Designer II will be an integral part of the team creating the next generation of CNN mobile apps, collaborating on features and tickets with cross-functional partners to deliver detailed final files for build. This role involves partnering closely with senior designers, product managers, and engineering, while also participating in QA and testing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver insights that inform conversion, engagement, and retention
  • Help define the future vision of CNN's new product initiatives
  • Utilize and evolve the Design System patterns as needed to contribute and create new, cross-platform compatible components
  • Partner with product and user research on plans for testing and research
  • Take part in and collaborate with the cross-functional team on QA and testing

Requirements

  • 0-2 years' work experience as a digital designer
  • Knowledge of visual design elements including typography, layout, and visual hierarchy
  • Design portfolio highlighting work in native mobile experiences
  • Familiarity with collaboration with internal stakeholders such as product management and engineering
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud tools
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
