Senior Product Designer - Freelance

The Senior Product Designer will be responsible for designing end-to-end SaaS user journeys and workflows, focusing heavily on usability, efficiency, and clarity within data-rich interfaces. This role involves leveraging UX quality metrics, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers, and contributing to the evolution of design systems.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end SaaS user journeys and workflows
- Work deeply with data-rich interfaces, dashboards, operational flows, and complex information architectures
- Use UX quality metrics and SaaS KPIs to inform and prioritise design decisions
- Translate product strategy and business goals into thoughtful, elegant user experiences
- Apply expert-level understanding of design systems, contributing to and extending them where needed
- Incorporate data and user insights into the design process
- Rapidly prototype and run usability tests, validating concepts and iterating quickly
- Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to balance feasibility, speed, and quality
- Collaborate seamlessly with other designers to deliver a cohesive, unified experience across the product
- Balance long-term UX vision with pragmatic, iterative execution
- Leverage AI-powered design tools and workflows to enhance research, ideation, prototyping, and productivity
- Champion users by deeply understanding their workflows, behaviours, and motivations
Requirements
- Significant experience designing SaaS products
- A track record working on growth, activation, retention, or operational optimisation within SaaS
- Deep understanding of interaction design, information architecture, journey mapping, onboarding, progressive disclosure, and complex workflows
- Expert knowledge of Figma and design systems
- A portfolio demonstrating both craft excellence and analytical thinking
- Experience incorporating quantitative and qualitative data into design decision-making
- Strong prototyping skills and experience conducting usability testing and rapid validation cycles
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers in cross-functional teams
