Senior Product Designer, Assistant

The role involves driving end-to-end product design, from initial research to final delivery, focusing heavily on designing QuillBot’s browser extension experience across Chrome, Edge, and Safari. Responsibilities also include contributing to the design language system and advocating for user experience by deeply understanding user needs.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end product design, from initial user research and exploration to final pixel-perfect delivery in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and senior design leadership
• Take an active role in designing QuillBot's browser extension experience for Chrome, Edge, and Safari
• Partner with other designers to ensure the browser extension integrates seamlessly with our web app and other product surfaces, creating a unified, consistent, and intuitive user experience across the entire product ecosystem
• Contribute to and evolve our design language system, balancing reuse of patterns with the thoughtful creation of new, scalable components suitable for the given surface
• Advocate for user experience by deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and the broader goals they're trying to achieve, not just isolated feature usage
• Craft thoughtful and elegant experiences within the constraints of browser environments, using strong interaction design, clear visual hierarchy, and well-considered micro-interactions, while building a solid understanding of web technologies, extension frameworks, and cross-browser limitations
• Help nurture a culture of design excellence by actively participating in critiques, mentoring peers, and contributing to team rituals

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience designing consumer-facing web products or browser extensions
• Portfolio that showcases systems thinking, polished visual design, and user-centered processes
• Understands and uses design systems to maintain consistency and scale design across web surfaces and browser environments
• Self-directed, thrives in ambiguity, and moves quickly without sacrificing quality
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, with high attention to craft and a solid understanding of responsive design, web patterns, and browser-specific constraints
