Senior Product Designer - Design Systems

The Senior Product Designer will design, maintain, and evolve the company's design system, focusing on UI components, patterns, and foundations like color and typography. This role involves close collaboration with engineering to ensure components are production-ready and supporting product designers in the effective use of the system.

Responsibilities

• Design and refine UI components, patterns, and foundations within Xometry's design system
• Translate product and platform needs into scalable, reusable system solutions
• Partner closely with Design Systems Engineering to ensure components are feasible, well-documented, and production-ready
• Support product designers by helping them use the system effectively and consistently
• Create and maintain clear documentation, usage guidelines, and examples in Figma and supporting tools
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from the Design Systems Lead
• Help identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement within the system

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, with some experience contributing to or working within a design system
• Strong visual, interaction, and UI design skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience designing component-based systems in Figma
• Ability to think in terms of patterns, scalability, and reuse
• Comfort collaborating closely with engineers and incorporating technical constraints
• Clear communication skills and openness to feedback
