Principal UX Designer: Generative AI & Computational Design

The role involves leading UX strategy and definition for next-generation, AI-powered product design workflows, requiring the invention and prototyping of new creation models blending computational design, simulation, and generative techniques with intuitive UX patterns. Responsibilities also include architecting end-to-end workflow solutions and collaborating across product, engineering, and research teams to deliver experiences that accelerate creativity while supporting manufacturability.
Responsibilities
- Lead UX strategy and definition for next-generation, AI-powered product design workflows across Autodesk Fusion
- Invent and prototype new creation models that blend computational design, simulation, and generative techniques with intuitive UX patterns
- Collaborate with product, engineering, research, data science, and design partners to deliver experiences that accelerate creativity while supporting manufacturability and real-world constraints
Requirements
- 10+ years in UX, industrial design, and computational design with a proven track record of building creation tools, advanced workflows, or modeling environments
- Deep understanding of AI-assisted design, parametric modeling, generative design, computational geometry, and design-for-manufacturing requirements
- Experience with shipping tools or workflows used for product design, industrial design, or mechanical engineering
- Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end workflows, from gathering requirements through prototyping to production-ready user experiences
