The designer will support complex initiatives by bringing structure and a human-centered perspective to problem-solving, working collaboratively to design and improve digital experiences focusing on accessibility and usability. Key duties include leading discovery efforts, planning workshops, translating ambiguous problems into clear statements, and communicating design intent to various audiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery efforts to identify user needs, pain points, requirements, and business objectives
- Plan and facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to drive alignment and clarity
- Translate ambiguous problem spaces into clearly defined problem statements and priorities
- Communicate design intent, requirements, and constraints effectively to technical, non-technical, and leadership audiences
- Present findings, recommendations, and design concepts to stakeholders in a clear, inclusive manner
- Synthesize research and discovery findings to produce actionable artifacts
- Develop wireframes to explore solutions and gather early feedback
- Advocate for user-centered design practices and contribute to the team’s growth in discovery and design methodologies
- Demonstrate curiosity and a growth mindset by continuously learning new tools, methods, and domain knowledge
Requirements
- Active Secret security Clearance
- BA/BS degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience leading discovery and requirements gathering activities
- Proficiency in creating design artifacts using tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar
- Experience with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Sketch)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
