The specialist will design high-fidelity UI components, patterns, and templates in Figma for a unified design system, establishing visual standards across web and mobile platforms. They will also redesign key screens and user flows, craft micro-interactions, and partner with technologists to ensure effective code translation.

Responsibilities

  • Designing high-fidelity UI components, patterns, and templates in Figma for the unified design system
  • Redesigning key screens and user flows for Pearson's learning platforms, demonstrating how design system components combine to create cohesive product experiences
  • Crafting micro-interactions, transitions, and motion specifications with meticulous attention to detail
  • Partnering with Creative Technologists to ensure designs translate effectively into code (I.E. React components in Storybook)
  • Participating in visual QA and implementation review
  • Imagining the next generation of interaction patterns and contexts like voice user interfaces and multi-modal interactions (AR/VR) that support the product vision

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of visual design experience with a portfolio demonstrating UI design for component-based systems
  • Expert proficiency in Figma (components, variants, auto-layout, libraries)
  • Experience with motion and/or prototyping software (I.E. After Effects or Framer) a plus
  • Strong foundation in typography, color theory, hierarchy, and composition with ability to think in scalable patterns
  • Collaborative mindset with clear communication skills and receptiveness to feedback
