
Lead Product Designer: Design Systems

The Lead Product Designer is responsible for creating intuitive user experiences, delivering exceptional design solutions, and advocating for design systems while supporting the Portfolio Design Lead with problem-solving. Key duties involve defining user research requirements, executing product UX/UI design from discovery through high-fidelity prototypes, and collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams in Agile sprints.
Responsibilities
- Create intuitive user experiences across platforms, delivering exceptional design solutions
- Support the Portfolio Design Lead with impactful problem solving
- Apply design thinking, UX and UI skills to design solutions from products and features
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including product managers, engineers, data scientists and design partners
- Present and engage with stakeholders
- Lead initiatives or major tasks within the overall design project or workstream
- Direct the efforts of more junior product designers
Requirements
- NQF Level 4: Grade 12 or equivalent
- 3+ years working in the field of product design, 1+ within roles that involved personally leading significant workstreams or product design outcomes
- Proficiency in user research and design methodologies, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, accessibility and visual design
