The intern will assist in designing and developing user-centered interfaces for web and mobile applications, which includes conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions. They will also create necessary artifacts like wireframes and prototypes, collaborating with developers and project managers for accurate implementation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of user-centered interfaces and interactions for web and mobile applications
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions
- Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design concepts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and project managers, to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and efficiently
- Continuously improve design skills and stay current with industry trends and best practices
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design critiques
- Mentored by an experienced UI/UX designer
- Contribute to the improvement of design processes and guidelines
- Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements
- Currently undertaking a degree in Graphic/Web or User Design, Arts or software engineering, or related fields
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and the ability to apply them in practice
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Figjam, Miro etc
- Experience with wireframing and prototyping tools
- Knowledge of responsive design and ability to design for different screen sizes and device types
- Understanding of web and mobile design guidelines and best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to find solutions
- Experience with usability testing and user research methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Strong portfolio that demonstrates a variety of design projects and problem-solving approach
- Strong time management and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- High attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong ability to learn new tools and technologies
