
Product Designer II - Consumer

The role involves owning end-to-end design for critical customer shopping experiences, from discovery through polished visuals and launch, while elevating visual and interaction quality across key flows like browse, search, cart, and checkout. Responsibilities also include partnering with cross-functional teams to define problems, explore solutions, run experiments, and create high-fidelity designs and production-ready specifications.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for Instacart's most critical customer experiences
- Elevate visual and interaction quality across key flows
- Partner with product managers, engineers, data scientists, user researchers, and content designers
- Create high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and production-ready specs
- Collaborate with external retail partners and internal enterprise teams
- Advocate for customer needs while balancing business objectives, technical feasibility, and speed
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in digital product design
- Comfortable collaborating closely with product and engineering partners
- Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven decision-making
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proficient in maintaining comprehensive design documentation
- Strong portfolio showcasing problem-solving skills and design quality
