Lead Product Designer - Design Systems

The Lead Product Designer will define and maintain the core Figma component library and create scalable systems for various interfaces. They will also establish governance processes for new components and advocate for design and engineering collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Architecture: Define and maintain the core Figma component library, tokens, and documentation
- Scale: Create scalable systems that work across responsive web, mobile, and specialized hardware interfaces/touch devices
- Governance: Establish the process for how new components are proposed, vetted, and integrated by the broader UX team
- Advocacy: Act as a bridge between Design and Engineering to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and technical feasibility
- Product Design: Build, test interactive components and prototypes. Pinch hit as needed on cross-product experiences
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Product Design, with 4+ years dedicated specifically to Design Systems
- Expert-level Figma proficiency (Auto-layout, Variables, Prototyping)
- Deep understanding of frontend development technologies and accessibility (WCAG) standards
- Experience coordinating between Figma and Storybook or similar tool
- A portfolio demonstrating polished visual design and a systemic way of thinking
- Technical/UX writing: excellent sensibility in naming things (e.g. components) in a system context
- Ability to speak expertly about every layer: interaction, visual, motion, writing, etc.
