
Principal Mechanical Design Engineering Lead (Onsite)

Lead a team of engineers to develop and qualify aircraft ejection seats while ensuring technical scope integrity and budget/schedule accuracy. Support all phases of the ejection seat product development lifecycle including design, verification, and production implementation.
Responsibilities
- Interface with customers/suppliers/internal stakeholders for an Ejection Seat Program
- Successfully lead a team of engineers to execute on design/project tasks required to develop and qualify aircraft ejection seats
- Perform analysis to resolve ejection seat design challenges
- Support through all phases of design including bid and proposal, conceptual design, preliminary design, detailed design, qualification testing, new product introduction, production implementation, and in-production support
- Work as part of a cohesive team with test engineering, product engineering, system engineering, and program management
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Strong analytical skills including strong knowledge of physics, dynamics, and statics
- Strong background in mechanical design principles
- Experience presenting design solutions to internal and external customers
- 3D CAD experience with high end CAD software (e.g. NX, Catia, Pro-E)
