2026 Intern - Mechanical Design Engineering - Onsite

The intern will provide mechanical design and drafting support to the Mechanical Engineering department, working under general direction. Responsibilities include performing mechanical design, assisting in construction, and collaborating with senior engineers and manufacturing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design and drafting to the Mechanical Engineering department
• Perform mechanical design and minor analysis, and may assist in the construction of infrared focal plane array packaging
• Assist the senior mechanical engineer in designing the product or tooling
• Work closely with the manufacturing engineer to ensure that the product can be produced and aid in the design of the necessary tools and equipment required to produce the product
• Assist in the procurement of the program mechanical, electrical and optical components

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Must be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of Summer 2026
• U.S. citizenship is required
• Working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, preferably Pro-E/Creo
• Knowledge of basic mechanical engineering, principles, theories, and concepts
