Senior Product Designer, Hazel AI

The designer will own the end-to-end experience for Hazel's Admin AI, focusing on designing agentic workflows for administrative tasks like note-taking, managing inboxes, and handling tasks across core surfaces. This includes inventing new interaction patterns for AI-assisted work that blend automation, suggestions, and human control to reduce cognitive load while maintaining transparency and trust.

Responsibilities

• Design agentic workflows for real admin work and own the Admin AI experience across core surfaces like note-taking, meetings, inbox, and tasks
• Design how Hazel captures context, summarizes information, follows up, asks clarifying questions, and takes action on a user’s behalf—while staying predictable, transparent, and trustworthy
• Invent new interaction patterns for AI-assisted work where traditional UI doesn’t fit, blending automation, suggestions, and human control to reduce cognitive load without hiding important context
• Define how the agent communicates and collaborates: Design patterns for how Hazel signals progress, uncertainty, permissions, and handoffs across multi-step and asynchronous workflows
• Prototype and ship in code: Build functional prototypes using real front-end code—not just static mockups
• Work closely with engineers to refine interaction details and ship features into production, owning features from concept through launch

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on complex, multi-step workflows and end-to-end ownership from discovery through launch
• Strong interaction design fundamentals and a track record of shipping real products—not just concepts or prototypes
• Ability to prototype and build in code (e.g., HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or similar), and comfort working directly in front-end codebases
• A systems-level mindset for how features connect across notes, meetings, inbox, and tasks, and how those pieces should feel cohesive in one admin agent experience
• High craft bar and strong taste in interaction, UX writing, and visual hierarchy, with the portfolio to back it up
• Comfort designing in ambiguous problem spaces with evolving constraints and rapidly changing AI capabilities
• Clear communication and strong, low-ego collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Research
