Senior Technical UI Designer

The Senior Technical UI Designer will implement UI systems design in Unreal Engine, build rapid prototypes, and collaborate with UX Designers, UI Artists, and UI Programmers. They will also ensure UI performance and assist in debugging and workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

• Working on UI Systems Design
• Breaking down feature/wireframe into necessary widgets, materials, and input navigation
• Increasing UI performance by ensuring best practices are being followed by colleagues
• Learning to profile performance and the costs of UMG/Slate/C++/and texture memory
• Assisting UI Artists where necessary to implement special presentation behaviour
• Consulting with UI Programmers on what logic will be in blueprint vs native code

Requirements

• Experience in building UI and experiences in game engines and across multiple platforms
• Professional experience using Adobe Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Engine experience (Custom engine, Unity, Unreal Engine, Lumberyard, Snowdrop, etc.)
• Understanding of game industry 3D-package experience (3D Studio, Maya, etc.)
• UI work on 2+ AAA game titles
• C++ scripting experience
• Experience with building materials/shaders in Unreal or equivalent
