Product Designer - Mechatronics - Paris & Cambridge

The Product Designer will create detailed designs and develop prototypes for mechanical systems, ensuring they meet performance and safety standards. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into production and conduct tests to validate designs.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs, perform calculations, and develop prototypes for mechanical systems
• Develop electro-hydraulic, computer-controlled systems integrating hydraulic components, sensors, input devices, and control logic
• Analyze and select appropriate materials and components based on mechanical properties, cost, and suitability for manufacturing processes
• Collaborate and work closely with cross-functional teams including designers/engineers, manufacturing, and quality control
• Conduct tests such as stress analysis, fatigue testing, vibration analysis, and control logic to validate designs and optimize performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering preferred
• Previous design experience within similar industries to forestry
• Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals, mechanics, machine control theory, sensor technologies, remote control, and autonomous control systems
• Software experience including 3D modeling (SolidWorks)
