The Design Engineering Manager will manage employees performing engineering and technical activities, focusing on Electronic and Electrical Engineering within the 787 Systems Organization. Responsibilities include developing and executing project plans, acquiring resources, providing technical management of suppliers, and overseeing technical approaches for airplane systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Electronic and Electrical Engineering
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in the Aerospace industry
  • 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional teams
  • 2+ years of experience leading and/or managing complex projects
  • 2+ years of experience or familiarity with aircraft design and airplane systems
