
Middle-weight Graphic Designer - Support Functions

The role involves shaping concepts from briefs, delivering production-ready files, and creating various design assets for publications, presentations, and events. The designer will collaborate with multiple teams and manage timelines and project communication.
Responsibilities
- Concept to delivery: Shape concepts from ambiguous briefs; present options with clear reasoning; iterate quickly; deliver production-ready files
- Publications & editorial: Typesetting and long-form layout; image research; export setup and pre-flight
- Presentations & pitch decks: Create branded, polished presentations for internal and external use
- Data visualisation & information design: Build accurate, readable charts and diagrams; document sources; apply clear labels and accessibility standards
- Social & digital assets: Design platform-native creative for social media; maintain agile templates; collaborate with Video on complex assets
- Events & live delivery: Develop event visual identities and collateral; prepare specs; liaise with suppliers; support on-site/real-time amends
- Brand & visual identity: Apply and evolve the brand; create and update identity toolkits; maintain Figma libraries, components and documentation
- Motion & animation: Produce light motion in After Effects; collaborate with Video on larger pieces
- UI & digital product: Contribute to user journeys, wireframes and UI mock-ups; support component systems; basic CSS knowledge desirable
- Project communication: Run regular check-ins; manage timelines, risks and approvals; keep files well organised and easy to hand over
- Continuous improvement: Improve templates and systems; share useful tools and plug-ins; use AI tools appropriately to speed production
Requirements
- 3-5 years' professional experience in graphic design
- Equivalent portfolio spanning publications, data viz/information design, social, events and brand systems
- Advanced typography and layout skills
- Information design and data literacy
- Multi-channel craft across print, digital and event/large-format
- Clear written and verbal communication
- Strong time management across multiple concurrent briefs
Key Skills
- Advanced Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Acrobat)
- Advanced Figma (components, styles, libraries, prototyping)
- Proficient Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Desirable: Data-visualisation tools (e.g. Flourish)
- Desirable: Blender (basic), basic CSS, awareness of HTML/CSS constraints
