Mechanical Design Engineering Department Manager 3 (17535)

Provide oversight and assistance to multiple programs within the Division portfolio, ensuring successful achievement of program goals. Lead improvements across the design department for employee engagement, hiring, development, and retention of top talent.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and assistance to multiple programs within the Division portfolio
• Analyze current release process, gaps, and resolution to ensure throughput of PDP releases at design review milestones
• Own and lead improvements across design department for employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent
• Mentor, develop, and train section managers and overall employee base
• Create and manage high performing teams while providing technical, administrative and management expertise

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 8 years of experience; 6 years with Master’s
• Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
• At least 1 year of experience working in the Aerospace and or the Defense field
• 3 years of experience as CAM and or EVMS

Key Skills

• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees
• Experience working on ICBMs
• Understanding and proven experience leading Sustainment technical scope of work
• Active TS Clearance, program access
• Familiarity with Agile engineering and Jira
