External Design Engineering Supervisor

The Supervisor, External Design Engineering will manage transmission line design projects and oversee external engineering leads. Responsibilities include reviewing project cost estimates, maintaining relationships with external firms, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Assigning and supervising external engineering leads and their projects with external design firms
- Reviewing and approving transmission line project cost estimates prepared by external firms
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all external firms
- Facilitating learning opportunities for direct reports to expand knowledge base of transmission engineering
- Evaluating transmission line ratings and requirements, and project schedules to facilitate accurate engineering
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school plus a minimum of 7 years related experience
- Related experience includes engineering, supervision and mentoring others
- Experience with transmission design sufficient to assure compliance with FirstEnergy engineering practices
- Effective supervisory practices, effective planning and budgeting
- Working knowledge of applicable computer software necessary to fulfill job duties
