Onsite Full-time Principal

The Principal Product Designer will lead the creation and maintenance of the Savvas Product Design Systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency across product development. This role involves developing design guidelines, conducting audits, and driving the adoption of the design system across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design System Strategy, Creation, & Maintenance: Develop and maintain a comprehensive set of design guidelines, reusable design components, patterns, and standards
  • Documentation & Guidelines: Create and maintain an actionable, concise documentation, including usage guidelines, accessibility standards (WCAG), behavioral specifications, and code examples for designers and developers
  • Evolve Design Systems by strategically integrating AI to maximize its effectiveness throughout product development
  • Partner closely with Product Design Directors, Product Design Managers, and Product Designers to gather requirements, ensure seamless implementation, and advocate for best practices in design implementation

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in senior product design, UX/UI, or a similar role, with a dedicated focus on building and scaling design systems
  • Demonstrated experience in graphic design/UX design/human-centered design, that demonstrates proficiency in interaction and visual design
  • A certificate or degree in the aforementioned fields is a plus
  • A strong portfolio of innovative design work experience, evidence of graphic/visual, UX, and UI design experience, and website usability best practices

Key Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of Product Design Tools like the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Figma, and Figma Make
  • Ability to think abstractly and design solutions that work as a system across multiple products, gadgets, and platforms
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Accessibility Expertise: Strong knowledge of accessibility principles and guidelines (WCAG) to ensure inclusive and usable products for all users
