Graphic Designer

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating visually compelling materials that support the Zoo’s mission. This includes designing print and digital assets, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring all visual communications align with the Zoo’s brand identity.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop visual concepts for print materials, exhibit interpretive's, and interactive experiences using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite
• Work collaboratively with clients to develop intentional, audience-focused design strategies—combining color, imagery, and typography into clear, effective solutions that advance and strengthen the Zoo's brand and mission
• Fabricate and install signs using in-house equipment and tools (large format printer, laminator, vinyl cutter, hand and power tools)
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to understand needs, present ideas, and manage project expectations, brainstorming ideas and incorporating feedback into design
• Must be able to meet deadlines, stay within budget, and follow all direction from supervisors, senior staff and clients
• Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or associate degree in graphic design (4) year college or university or equivalent with 1-2 years' experience in the field
• Demonstrate a strong artistic ability and high level of creativity
• Highly proficient with design software programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to effectively present ideas both verbally & visually in group settings
• Ability to solve problems and multi-task
