The Senior Product Designer will own design work across multiple product areas and collaborate with various teams to improve workflows. They will also advocate for users and ensure that designs are intuitive and effective.
Responsibilities
- Own design work across multiple squads and balance hands-on work with thinking about how everything fits together
- Talk to people using the tools and figure out what's frustrating them and where automation can help
- Design interfaces that reduce cognitive load and make complicated workflows feel simple
- Spot opportunities for AI and automation and find places to save people from repetitive work and reduce errors
- Turn legal/technical requirements into tools people can actually use and translate complex stuff into something organized and intuitive
- Work with the design system and use what's available, extend it when needed, and keep things consistent
- Coach and grow the team by sharing feedback, frameworks, and perspective to help designers grow
- Partner with engineers and push for good UX while being realistic about what can be shipped quickly
- Make prototypes that show how things work, especially for complex interactions and different states
- Actually measure if designs work and look at things like task completion time, error rates, and whether people are happier
Requirements
- 5-7 years designing tools or enterprise software
- Ability to organize chaos and figure out a system that makes sense
- Experience shipping things that made work easier and can show how it worked
- Knowledge of how to learn from users and validate assumptions
- Ability to break complex stuff into simple steps
- Pragmatic and able to ship something good rather than wait for perfect
- Experience working with design systems and component-based design
- Ability to work well with engineers and PMs and have productive conversations about tradeoffs
- Ability to explain thinking and decisions
