Product Designer - Mechatronics

The Product Designer will create detailed designs and develop prototypes for mechanical systems while ensuring compliance with performance and safety standards. They will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into production and conduct various tests to validate and optimize performance.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed designs, perform calculations, and develop prototypes for mechanical systems
- Develop electro-hydraulic, computer-controlled systems integrating hydraulic components, sensors, input devices, and control logic
- Create efficient and user friendly interface systems for operators and service technicians
- Analyze and select appropriate materials and components based on mechanical properties, cost, and suitability for manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Previous design experience within similar industries to forestry
- Strong understanding of machine design fundamentals, mechanics, machine control theory, sensor technologies, remote control, and autonomous control systems
- Software experience including 3D modeling (SolidWorks)
Key Skills
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, control logic, mobile computer systems, user interfaces, low power electrical design, and mobile hydraulic systems
- Design tasks require collaboration with coworkers, and effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members
