Product Designer
Give And Go Prepared Foods • Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦
The Product Designer will develop new cookie shapes and kits, manage projects from ideation to production, and liaise with various teams to ensure quality and efficiency. They will also create samples for customers and oversee the design and production processes.
Responsibilities
- Develops new products with Marketing direction, Innovation sessions or creates independently
- Leads in scaling, baking, labeling and packaging of lab & customer samples
- Works with Purchasing, suggests needs for new ingredients needed for creation of new formulations, providing desired target cost
- Manages projects from ideation to production runs
- Manages die supplier relationship, design specs, & die library
- Works with Production on new concept/processing methods ensuring 'critical to quality' processes are understood by manufacturing
Requirements
- Degree in Food Science, Chef's or Bakers Red Seal, Pastry Arts or Cookie & Cake Decorating
- 3-5 years of bakery or food manufacturing experience specializing in cookie and/or cake decorating
- CAD program knowledge
- Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, (BRC, SQF) and Food Allergens
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
