Lead Product Designer - Onboarding and Activation

Lead and mentor a team of designers while contributing to high-level design work. Shape the UX vision and roadmap for onboarding and activation, ensuring a positive user experience.
Responsibilities
- Shape strategy: Partner with Heads of Product and senior stakeholders to define the UX vision and roadmap for onboarding, activation, and our membership domain
- Lead and grow designers with regular 1:1s, feedback, and career development.
- Be hands-on where it matters and contribute to important design projects yourself from discovery to delivery while empowering your team to shine
- Promote growth design: Use data, experimentation, and user insight to improve activation, retention, and engagement
- Raise the quality bar: Run critiques, workshops, and design rituals that bring teams together and push the craft forward
- Communicate design decisions through clear storytelling, influencing senior leaders, engineers, and product managers alike
- Champion user-centred outcomes while balancing business and technical constraints.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in-house within cross functional, Agile product teams on software products that solve complex user needs
- Product design experience in onboarding or growth is advantageous.
- A portfolio that shows your process and strategy, not just great UI.
- Stories to tell about mentoring or managing designers, ideally with experience line managing
- Experience designing top performing native apps (iOS or Android) and responsive web
- Comfort working with and contributing to design systems in Figma
Key Skills
- Design and collaboration: Figma, Lucid, Confluence, Teams, or Jira (plus the usual post its and sharpies)
- Research: Our dedicated user researchers conduct studies, and we expect our designers to run them too. We use Usertesting for remote research and are moving to Qualtrics for quant and NPS
