Garmin is seeking a full-time Product Designer 2 to join the Device Interaction team, focusing on designing experiences for the Garmin Golf App. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to collaborate with others and utilize their full range of user experience design, interaction design, and visual design skills.
Responsibilities
- Leverage knowledge of UX/UI design tools such as Figma
- Take ownership of key features in a product line
- Perform user interviews and observational research
- Interpret research data to create viable solutions
- Define and design product interactions with stakeholders or partners
- Mentor less experienced user experience designers
- Demonstrate the full use of design standards and procedures in performance of essential functions
- Apply Garmin's Mission Statement and Quality Policy and enthusiastically exhibit a desire to see Garmin succeed
- Work in cross-functional teams collaboratively and professionally with other associates to achieve our objectives and key results
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Interactive Design, Human Factors, Visual Design or a degree with an equivalent curriculum that teaches user-centered design principles
- A minimum of 1 year relevant work experience OR a minimum of 5 years equivalent combination of education and relevant experience performing the essential functions of the Garmin Product Designer role
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- 2 or more years of experience designing for web, Android, and iOS
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the design process
- A portfolio that demonstrates refined digital product design skills across multiple projects
- Proficient knowledge of usability principles
- Proficient abilities implementing a design thinking process
- Proficient knowledge of design principles
- Proficient knowledge of user interface design principles
