Principal Product Designer, Slack Messaging

The Principal Product Designer will work cross-functionally with product and engineering partners to represent the design team and ensure design quality. They will lead design discussions, create prototypes, and mentor other designers while influencing the overall direction of the product area.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product and engineering partners to represent the design team and facilitate design discussions
• Collaborate closely with leadership to define features and influence the overall direction of the product area
• Design flows, prototypes, sketches, and high-fidelity UI for experiments and features
• Lead by example, do excellent work, and help people on the team learn how you do it

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in an individual contributor role on a Product Design team
• Deep understanding of system-level work, with a proven track record of delivering scalable solutions across product surfaces
• Outstanding portfolio, showcasing a strong foundation in typography, interaction, and visual design
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with a focus on experimentation and rapid iteration
