Garmin International is seeking a Human Factors Avionics Flight Deck Design Engineer to design intuitive graphical user interfaces for flight deck avionics systems. The engineer will be responsible for developing and designing superior aviation products and ensuring systems meet the needs and capabilities of intended users.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, and prototype user experiences for new features and products
- Apply human-centered design techniques to develop insights and generate new product ideas
- Communicate research/design requirements using mockups, story boarding, visual presentations, or other methods
- Apply design standards/procedures to ensure consistent user interface designs and behaviors across aviation products and services
- Effectively articulate and defend design decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Engineering, Human Centered Design, Aviation, or related field
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0)
- Exposure to quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of usability, accessibility, and other industry standard practices
