The Design Lead is responsible for directing the overall vision and ensuring the highest quality of design within the Physiological Sensing product portfolio. This role involves promoting human-centered innovation and design excellence while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior designers.
Responsibilities
- Participate in clinical immersion opportunities to observe product use, gather insights, and validate design assumptions
- Engage with stakeholdersāboth decision-makers and end-usersāto understand their perspectives and challenges
- Analyze feedback from recent clinical observations and stakeholder interviews
- Participate in a trio meeting with Product Owner and Technology Lead to refine product value propositions and roadmap priorities
- Review ongoing product design projects and align with product designers on implementation details
- Lead brainstorming sessions with the product team to address emerging user needs and market trends
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure design vision & design strategy aligns with the respective AC&M market strategy
- Mentor junior designers and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams
- Review regulatory compliance documentation and ensure all design outputs meet required standards
- Summarize user research, identify innovation opportunities, update the research database, and prepare action plans for cross-functional meetings
Requirements
- Bachelorās or Masterās degree in Product Design, Design Research, User Experience Design, Industrial Design, or related field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR a Masterās degree with a minimum of 8 years relevant experience OR a PhD with 6 years relevant experience
- Proven leadership in scaling design teams and processes
- Expertise in ethnographic research, behavioral science, and design thinking
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and lead through influence
- Deep understanding of clinical workflows in healthcare
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
- Experience with global user studies and cross-cultural product development
- Deep understanding of regulatory environments and standards
- Passionate, curious, and creative system thinker
- Team player with high analytical abilities and strong business acumen
